Reality TV star Mercy Eke has shared stunning pictures of her recreation of French fashion designer Thierry Mugler’s iconic 1995 Birth of Venus dress for Halloween.
On Wednesday, Mercy shared photos of herself on Instagram in the pink and black ensemble, along with images of the original Mugler design, as she geared up for Halloween on October 31.
She captioned the post, “Turning Halloween into a glam affair with Thierry Mugler’s 1995 – ‘Birth of Venus’ dress because Halloween deserves a touch of elegance and drama!”
Originally designed in 1995, Mugler’s Birth of Venus dress is a tribute to Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli’s 15th-century masterpiece.
Known also as the Venus Ensemble, the dress exemplifies Mugler’s signature style of body-conscious design and theatrical flair.
It features a blush-coloured translucent bodysuit paired with a dark navy velvet column skirt that wraps around the hips and rises into a shell shape.
