Miss Universe Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina has opened up about the challenges she’s faced on her journey to the Miss Universe stage.

Sharing her story on Instagram on Friday, she reflected on her resilience and determination to represent Nigeria and compete on the global stage in Mexico.

In her heartfelt message, Chidimma described her dream of becoming Miss Universe, a goal she envisioned back in 2017.

“In 2017, I had this dream of walking the Miss Universe stage, with no idea of what it truly meant to be a queen,” she wrote.

Now, after seven years of dedication, that dream is within reach.

“In exactly eight days, I will be walking the Miss Universe stage. Win or not, I am incredibly proud of myself. I’m filled with so much joy and fulfilment, for I’m about to accomplish what once seemed impossible. I envisioned this moment, and it’s about to become my reality,” she said.

The model shared the emotional toll of her journey, mentioning the tears, pain and trauma she endured.

“There were days I felt like giving up, days I felt unworthy and undeserving. But I refused to let anything or anyone dim my vision,” she said.

Chidimma emphasised that her achievement was not hers alone.

“This accomplishment is for Nigeria, for Africa,” she declared.

Her message included an encouragement for others pursuing their dreams.

“To anyone who has ever doubted themselves, I see you, and I believe in you. Your dreams are valid. Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back—because you can,” she said.

Chidimma is currently in Mexico, preparing to compete for the prestigious Miss Universe crown.

She announced her arrival on October 30.
