Mr P dismisses song theft claim by twin brother Rudeboy

Peter Okoye P-Square

Singer Peter Okoye popularly known as Mr P has refuted allegation of song theft made by his twin brother Paul Okoye also known by his stage name Rudeboy.

On Friday, Mr P released his single ‘Winning’. However, Rudeboy alleged that the song was originally his and was intended for his album next year.

Rudeboy also accused the producer of diverting the track.

Producer of the song Vampire Craze said he created it for P-Square, the boy group which comprises Rudeboy and Mr P, back in 2022 when the duo was still collaborating.

He clarified that it wasn’t his responsibility to decide who ultimately releases the track.

Mr P further claimed that the song’s original composition was by Ogbogu Chijioke known popularly as Calypso with Mr P himself contributing to it.

Late Saturday, Mr P posted videos of his conversation with Vampire Craze on Instagram where the latter said Mr P commissioned him to produce ‘Winning’ in Lagos.

He added that the song was one of the tracks intended for a P-Square album.

Mr P accused his twin brother of attempting to tarnish his reputation since their separation.

“Enough of the negativity,” he declared, emphasising his intent to focus on his music.

In the video, he elaborated, “Every time, he’s trying to damage my name. Maybe because I wasn’t posting music-related content for over four months, he assumed I’d lost interest. I took a break to refocus, and when I returned, my vision was clear—WINNING!”

He continued, “I want everyone to succeed. I’m in a positive place mentally and creatively, and I’d like to celebrate my wins, big and small, in peace. I celebrate your successes too! Enough of the negativity. I just want to release my music, manage my business, and live a drama-free life.”
