Actress Iyabo Ojo has congratulated MC Oluomo on his emergence as the new national president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Iyabo shared her congratulations on Instagram on Tuesday, expressing her best wishes for his tenure.
She wrote, “Congratulations on your newly elected appointment as the president of Nurtw… I wish you a long and prosperous tenure filled with good health, happiness, and continued success. May you excel in all your endeavors and achieve great heights. Once again, congratulations! @kingmcoluomo.”
In response MC Oluomo thanked the actress for her support replying, “Thanks, sister mi.”
MC Oluomo emerged unopposed in a vote held at the union’s zonal secretariat along the Osogbo-Ikirun road last Saturday.
This show of support from Iyabo comes months after the actress was vocal during the 2023 general elections, backing Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and describing APC’s Bola Tinubu now president as too old for the role.
At the time she also referred to MC Oluomo and his NURTW associates as “thugs,” a statement that drew backlash from several Yoruba actresses including Dayo Amusa and Bimbo Akinsaya who criticized Iyabo and revealed personal grievances.
