Edo State House of Assembly has delayed the screening of Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, son of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, till the next plenary on Monday.

The assembly on Wednesday cleared Samson Osagie as the commissioner of justice and attorney general-designate.

The names were submitted to the lawmakers by Governor Monday Okpebholo following his inauguration on Tuesday.

In confirming Osagie, Speaker of the house Blessing Agbebaku emphasised his cognitive experience, having served in various capacities including twice in the state and national assemblies.

Agbebaku stated that the decision to clear him is one of the privileges granted to the former lawmaker who will now serve as the attorney general of the state.

The assembly also passed a motion urging the state government and security services to address rising kidnappings, cultism and related killings in the state.
