Birthdays are a fresh beginning, Taye Currency celebrates Pasuma after controversy

Fuji singer Taye Currency has surprised fans after celebrating the birthday of his senior colleague Wasiu Pasuma, sharing a message hinting at a new beginning following a recent controversy.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Taye posted a picture of Pasuma with a warm note celebrating his 57th birthday.

He wrote, “Birthdays are a new start, a fresh beginning, and a time to pursue new endeavors with new goals. Move forward with confidence and courage.

“You are a very special person. May today and all of your days be amazing! Happy birthday to you my Boss, Sheu Fuji Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma @officialpasuma. Long life and prosperity.”

The post comes weeks after Taye publicly apologised to Pasuma over remarks made during a performance that sparked debates among fans.

In October, a video surfaced online showing Taye clarifying his relationship with Pasuma during a stage performance.

Speaking in Yoruba, Taye stated, “Pasuma is my elder brother, not my father,” emphasising that while he respects the Fuji icon, he does not regard him as a father figure in the music industry.

The comments were met with mixed reactions, prompting Taye to express regret over what he described as a “misinterpretation” of his words.

Despite the controversy, Taye also known as Baba Honourable, highlighted his accomplishments, stating that he is 50 years old and remains the most prominent Fuji artist from Ibadan, Oyo State.

Taye’s birthday tribute to Pasuma appears to mark a fresh chapter in their relationship.
