Renowned legal practitioner Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has donated a state-of-the-art Senate building to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI) in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The building, completed within eight months, was officially handed over to the university on Thursday.
Olanipekun described the donation as part of his commitment to advancing education and supporting the institution’s growth.
The former Nigerian Bar Association president called on Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji to provide increased government support for the university. He also underscored the importance of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in addressing infrastructural needs in tertiary institutions.
“Without prejudice to my appeal to Mr. Governor to extend more assistance to the university, the point must be made that, all over the world, the trend now is public-private partnerships and collaborations in the provision of the desired and expected infrastructure for tertiary institutions, including public or government-owned Universities,” he said.
Oyebanji, in his remarks, commended Olanipekun’s philanthropic gesture, urging other Ekiti elites to emulate his commitment to community development.
Vice-chancellor of BOUESTI Prof Olufemi Adeoluwa expressed gratitude to Olanipekun, praising his dedication to human and community development.
Adeoluwa assured the public that the facility would be well-maintained and serve as a catalyst for the university’s growth.
