First Bank of Nigeria (FirstBank) has dismissed allegations of a N7 billion fraud, calling the claims “entirely unfounded” and lacking any factual basis.
An online report, citing anonymous sources, alleged the fraud involved the financial institution.
However, in a statement on Friday signed by Olayinka Ijabiyi, the acting group head of marketing and corporate communications, the bank refuted the accusations, saying: “We wish to categorically state that the story is entirely unfounded and not supported by any factual evidence.”
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to operational integrity and customer trust, assuring stakeholders that its security systems remain robust and that no breaches have occurred affecting customer accounts.
