Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rude Boy, one half of the defunct Psquare group has arrived in Uganda ahead of his concert scheduled for Saturday in Gulu City.
Rude Boy shared a video on Instagram on Thursday showing his arrival at the airport, where Ugandan fans gave him a grand welcome.
In the clip, the ‘Reason With Me’ star was greeted with cheers, handed a bouquet of flowers and seen acknowledging his fans before getting into a waiting car.
He captioned the post, “Touched down Uganda 🇺🇬🇺🇬 December 21st Gulu city.”
In the comment section, fans celebrated Rude Boy’s recognition abroad, with some also questioning the absence of his twin brother and former collaborator Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P.
A user identified as OGB wrote, “Why you no dey carry your brother along?”
Houzeiphat Moro praised him saying, “The undisputed king of music is loved everywhere, not only in Nigeria.”
VGBG CEO added, “This used to be for you and your brother.”
Ejike Aleke commented, “Them no suppose welcome you in grand style as you and your brother no follow together go there.”
Emceeze noted, “The love they show in other countries to creative people is top-notch.”
Rude Boy previously revealed in interviews that he prefers working solo, claiming he wrote most of Psquare’s songs while Peter only benefited from the success.
Despite the lingering questions about Psquare’s split, fans expressed admiration for Rude Boy’s reception in Uganda.
Rude Boy continues his solo music journey following Psquare’s breakup, while Peter on his part, also performs and records as Mr P.
