Actress Laide Bakare has announced that she is now officially a doctorate degree holder, adding another milestone to her growing list of achievements.
Laide revealed on Instagram on Friday that she had officially received an honorary Doctorate Degree in Arts and Humanities from the American University of Peace and Governance, USA.
Sharing photos from the conferment ceremony, the mother of three wrote: “It is now official to be addressed as Hon. (Dr.) Laide Bakare.
“This honor officially bestowed on me as a Doctor of Arts & Humanities (Honoris Causa) by the American University of Peace and Governance, USA, is a motivation geared towards dedication to governance, leadership, and service to humanity.”
Laide expressed gratitude to Jonathan Ojadah, chairman of the supreme council of the institution, and dedicated the award to her creator, friends, family and fans.
She also reserved special appreciation for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, whom she described as her mentor.
“Special appreciation goes to my Principal, Father, and mentor, His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, for your unwavering support and passion for the growth & development of Osun State which is worthy of emulation,” she added.
In February, Laide Bakare was appointed senior special assistant to the Osun State Governor on Entertainment, Art, Culture and Tourism.
At the time, she described the role as the beginning of her political journey and thanked Governor Adeleke for trusting her with the position.
