Actor Yinka Quadri has addressed the emotional toll that rumours of his death had on his family, particularly his children overseas.
In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 65-year-old expressed disappointment with those who spread the false news, describing the situation as distressing for his loved ones.
Yinka revealed that his children became deeply concerned after hearing the rumours and began calling him incessantly to confirm his safety.
“Despite our regular communication every few days, the news caused them unnecessary stress and anxiety,” he said.
Reflecting on the broader impact of such rumours, the actor noted that it could be especially damaging to newcomers in the entertainment industry.
“If it happened to someone who just came into the industry, the person might experience a setback or even leave entirely. But because this profession is inborn, I’m able to endure. This isn’t the first time,” he added.
Yinka also criticised social media for amplifying false information.
“When I saw it, I said, ‘Well done, you content creators.’ Although I wasn’t happy, I chose not to curse anyone but to leave them to God’s judgment,” he stated.
The actor recounted how the situation escalated, with his family calling him multiple times daily.
“It got to a point where they were calling in the morning, afternoon, and evening just to confirm. I told them the person responsible will get their reward from God because it is not right to wish anyone death,” he said.
Rumours of Yinka Quadri’s death went viral in June, sparking concern among fans and family members. The actor later took to social media to debunk the claims, assuring everyone that he was “alive and well.”
