Actress Toyosi Adesanya has opened up about the struggles in her 15-year marriage, revealing the lengths she went to save it, including sacrificing her home and enduring an alleged attempt on her life.
In a recent interview with colleague Bimpe Akintunde on the YouTube show Iriri Mi, Toyosi recounted how she relocated from Lagos to Akure to balance her career and family life.
She also travelled abroad at her own expense to reconcile with her husband after he relocated, but external forces eventually caused their marriage to collapse.
“I did everything to make my marriage work, I made a lot of sacrifices in my marriage,” Toyosi said.
“I left the house I built with him because my life was more important. I tried so hard to make it work, but the devil infiltrated my marriage.”
She also claimed there was an attempt on her life, stating, “A miracle saved me, but someone else lost their life in my place.”
Bimpe, who supported Toyosi during her marriage, corroborated some of her struggles, recalling how the actress fetched water in her home despite her celebrity status.
The actress, now in a new relationship, has vowed never to remarry saying, “I will only have one wedding in my life.”
