Private autopsy results for Mohbad concluded – Report

The private autopsy and toxicology results for singer Mohbad, who died in September 2023, have reportedly been concluded and are with the family’s contracted forensic pathologist.

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

His death sparked widespread controversy, leading to the exhumation of his body by the police on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy.

In May 2024, the pathologist responsible for the initial autopsy revealed that the cause of death could not be ascertained due to the advanced decomposition of the singer’s body.

Subsequently, a toxicology report in June 2024 indicated the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in Mohbad’s system. However, the concentration was not deemed lethal.

Dissatisfied with the findings, Mohbad’s family requested an independent autopsy, citing unresolved questions surrounding his death.

The coroner’s court in Ikorodu, Lagos, approved their request, allowing them to conduct a private autopsy and toxicology tests.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team, confirmed that the private autopsy involved two phases.

The first phase was completed, while the second phase included toxicology and histology analyses.

On Friday, PUNCH quoted a family source stating that the results have been ready since December 2024.

“The private autopsy has been concluded, and the result is currently with the forensic pathologist contracted by the family. The pathologist is waiting to present it in court,” the source disclosed.

Meanwhile, Mohbad’s father Joseph Aloba has consistently called for justice, urging the police to investigate the singer’s wife, Omowunmi, and to conduct a DNA test on their son, Liam.
