Actor Adeniyi Johnson has shared his emotional journey of waiting for a child, revealing that he spent a decade praying for a child before welcoming twins in February 2023.
In a candid interview with fellow actor Kunle Afod, the 46-year-old actor disclosed that his previous marriage had lasted three years, during which he waited for a child.
After the end of that marriage, Adeniyi began dating Seyi Edun in 2016 and they tied the knot in 2018.
He opened up about the challenging years stating, “I spent 10 years praying and engaging in religious activities, with seven of those years with my current wife. My faith and patience were finally rewarded when God blessed us with twins.”
Adeniyi reflected on the emotional toll sharing, “The vigil was much. But we thank God that what I had been crying for turned into joy. It was a cry of 10 years. Seyi and I sought God’s face for a child for seven years, and when it came, God gifted us with twins. What else can I do but be thankful?”
He expressed his joy at the sight of his children saying, “Whenever I am at home, and I see them climbing on me, I am filled with happiness.
“I thank God. While other parents buy diapers for one child, we buy two. We are grateful for His provision, and our children are healthy and well-fed.”
The 46-year-old also praised his wife for her resilience saying, “We did not allow age to define us. We thank God we don’t look like what we’ve been through.”
Adeniyi’s most publicised relationship was with actress Toyin Abraham.
The couple married in 2013 but separated in 2015 after facing allegations of infidelity and personal struggles.
Despite their divorce becoming a media sensation, Adeniyi and Toyin have since reconciled and now maintain a cordial relationship, often exchanging friendly messages online.
Following the end of his marriage to Toyin, Adeniyi began dating actress Seyi Edun.
The pair publicly announced their relationship, got engaged in 2017 and married in 2018. Adeniyi and Seyi often share moments from their life together on social media.
