Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reacted to a report suggesting a possible reconciliation with Queen Dami, his ex-lover and estranged wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo.
News of Queen Dami’s return to Portable gained traction after she shared cryptic posts on her Instagram Story on Wednesday.
In the posts, the mother of one spoke about the power of true love and reflected on external influences that contributed to the end of their relationship.
She suggested that bad advice from outsiders had negatively affected their bond, adding that love doesn’t have to make sense to others if it works for the couple involved.
Dami wrote, “True love never dies. No matter what, follow your heart, and that’s what I’m about to do. May God help me.”
She added, “Your relationship doesn’t need to make sense to anybody except you and your partner. It’s a relationship, not a community project. There’s no love without forgiveness, and there’s no forgiveness without love. Na my happiness matter.”
Her posts led some blogs to speculate that she intended to reconcile with Portable.
Reacting to the news, Portable took to the comment section of a post to address trolls he accused of attempting to ruin his home.
He referred to himself as a king and criticised those spreading negativity about his personal life, writing, “Oba ba lori everybody. Na una dey scatter my home online, eyin oloriburuku somebody.”
The two have also started following each other again on Instagram.
The development comes a month after Queen Dami and Portable’s public fallout.
The singer had accused her of being unfaithful, alleging she had affairs with several men, including Fuji musicians and was unable to bear him children.
He further accused her of contributing to the late monarch’s demise and engaging in other questionable activities.
In retaliation, Queen Dami denied the allegations, cursed Portable for defaming her and explained that their feud began after a misunderstanding over a live advert she did on social media.
The conflict escalated when Portable stormed the apartment he had rented for her, but Dami had already left the premises.
