Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the Executive Officer of Eezee Concept, has publicly accused gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo of breaching her contract with the record label.
He alleged that the singer has failed to adhere to agreed terms and has leveraged her religious connections to spread false narratives about their dispute.
The fallout escalated recently when reports emerged that Mercy Chinwo approached the Federal High Court in Lagos with allegations of financial misconduct against Onyedikachukwu.
Justice Alexander Owoeye, who presided over the case, subsequently issued an arrest warrant for the manager over claims involving $345,000.
Onyedikachukwu, in a public statement, claimed the singer had already received $625,000 from the label and expressed disappointment over the ongoing conflict.
He clarified that Eezee Concept offered a 50/50 earnings split and alleged that Mercy was seeking alternative support from law enforcement and religious organizations regarding a catalog she did not financially contribute to.
“It’s disappointing that after receiving over $635,000, this situation is still unfolding. Your career started with me as a backup singer, and I invested heavily to support your growth, including providing housing.
“However, you have withheld funds meant for the label and failed to deliver the third album stipulated in our contract,” Onyedikachukwu said.
He further noted that he had proposed meetings and an independent audit to resolve their issues but faced legal challenges last year that resulted in financial losses of $274,000.
Onyedikachukwu also raised concerns about Mercy Chinwo’s claim to a catalog he financed, stating that she had benefitted from quarterly royalties under their agreement.
“I appreciate the prayers and support from those around us and hope for a resolution that prioritizes truth and justice,” he added.
Neither Mercy Chinwo nor her representatives have publicly responded to the allegations at the time of this report.
