Singer Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, has addressed the backlash he received after a video surfaced of him bowing to Grammy Award winner Burna Boy during a recent club encounter.
The 42-year-old faced criticism online when fans noticed him prostrating to greet the 33-year-old Burna Boy, sparking debate about the appropriateness of the gesture, especially considering Slimcase’s nine-year seniority over the Afrobeats star.
In response to the negative comments, Slimcase took to his Instagram page on Thursday to clarify his actions.
He explained that his gesture was a sign of respect for Burna Boy’s achievements, particularly his Grammy win.
Slimcase emphasised that he would extend the same courtesy to any artiste who has earned such accolades, including younger stars like Rema, who is just 24 years old.
Slimcase wrote, “This is the way I greet GRAMMYS 🙏❤️👑. As young as Rema is, if he wins a Grammy, I will greet him this way. #slimcaseshow.”
