Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, showed glimpses of his abilities in his debut for Leicester City in the 2-1 victory of Oxford United on Tuesday evening.
Much is expected from the 23-year-old after joining the Premier League champions for a club-record fee of £16m from CSKA Moscow.
And the Nigerian, one of the six recently brought in by Claudio Ranieri didn’t disappoint the Foxes fans when was introduced into the game in the 61st minute.
Musa who replaced Leonardo Ulloa almost fired the Foxes in front six minutes after his introduction when he unleashed a fierce shot which was saved by Oxford goalkeeper, Simon Eastwood.
The former Kano Pillars man was unable to find the back of the net in his first appearance for Leicester, but showed his menacing pace and skills within the few minutes played.
His contributions at the Kassam Stadium earned him positive reviews from fans and the media – to the extent of even getting equal rating as goalscorers, Demarai Gray and Jeffrey Schlupp.
Musa and his teammates will face Efe Ambrose’s Celtic on Saturday at Celtic Park.
Meanwhile, Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, has warned Premier League defenders about the deadly pace of Musa.
Both teammates at international level with the Super Eagles, Iwobi believes the Leicester City new signing will be a hit in England.
“I have played with him and one thing I can tell you for sure is that this guy is fast,” Iwobi was quoted by Bleacher Report as saying on Tuesday.
“I think he can do well in England because he is exactly what you want in a winger; he will go past people and can cross the ball well.”
