The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up three places in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world football’s governing body on Thursday.
Despite a quite July for most national teams, with the three-time African champions not participating in any matches at all, they still managed to climb three spots to 67th in the world and 16th in Africa.
The world’s top 20 remained unchanged, with Argentina leading the charge over Belgium, Colombia and Germany, with Chile rounding off the top five, followed by Euro 2016 winners Portugal.
The world’s biggest climbers was Korea DPR, who moved up 18 places to 99th spot, while Cuba dropped 30 places to 151st.
In Africa, Algeria remain top, while Ghana leapfrogged Ivory Coast into second place, with Senegal and Egypt fourth and fifth respectively.
