Great Britain’s Laura Trott and Jason Kenny, known as the Golden couple, are becoming synonymous with winning gold medals at the Olympics.
The pair participated in five Cycling individual events at the Rio Olympics and swept all gold medals.
The couple will leave Rio with five gold medals between them to add to the five they won at the London Games.
Kenny, 28, won the keirin final on Tuesday to go with the individual sprint gold on Monday and the team sprint title last week. He also won gold and silver in Beijing and two gold at London 2012.
Trott, 24, who came to Rio with two gold from London, won the team pursuit on Sunday to become the first British woman to win three Olympic gold.
She’s also Britain’s most successful female Olympian with her fourth gold, in the omnium.
Kenny on the other hand, equalled Sir Chris Hoy’s record of six GB gold by winning the keirin.
The couple, who got engaged in 2014, are yet to get married but already live together in Manchester.
“He knows the ups and downs, what it’s like when a race goes badly, and he understands that I can’t get drunk on a Saturday night. And he is always there if I need him,” Trott told Hello Magazine.
But their Olympics careers are far from finished, so don’t expect them to be starting a family after they tie the knot next year.
They now have their sights set on Tokyo 2020.
“Me and Jason speak about it and he wants the same things, so I definitely want children in the future,” said Trott who was born a month prematurely.
“But it all depends on how long my Olympic career lasts because I want to end it on my terms. I don’t want to be pushed out of the sport.
“So whether it’s after the Tokyo, or the ones after that… I don’t want to draw a line because I love racing too much.”
