Nigeria forward, Osaze Odemwingie, has ended his search for a new club by joining English Championship side, Rotherham United till January.
The 35-year-old was desperately in need of a new team after being released by Stoke City in the summer.
His new deal comes barely a week after he partook in a Sky Sports documentary which featured footballers in the hunt of a new club in England.
He is Millers boss Kenny Jackett’s first signing since taking over the Championship’s bottom club on October 21, replacing Alan Stubbs.
Odemwingie, who notched 38 goals in the Premier League, says his class is permanent despite moving to the second tier of English football.
“Class is permanent, form is temporary, so I just need to find my form. All the movements are still there,” he said.
“Rotherham and Bolton showed interest over the weekend. Time is not on my side at my age and the Championship is a bit closer to where I wish to be.
“Thanks to Bolton for their interest in me but I’m really pleased to join Rotherham. Kenny showed some interest in me a few months ago and we have been in touch since then. I am pleased he got a job and he offered me a contract.”
Odemwingie was on trial at Hull in the summer and played in a number of pre-season friendlies, but failed to secure a contract.
He was released after two seasons at the Britannia following a 2014 move from Cardiff City, for whom he signed for £2.25m a year earlier. Odemwingie scored just five Premier League goals in 27 appearances for Stoke.
The forward famously messed up a Deadline Day move to Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2013, desperate to get out of a troubled spell at West Brom – his first club in England.
Odemwingie had arrived at the Baggies to much hype after joining from Lokomotiv Moscow.
The forward could make his Championship debut on Saturday when Rotherham visit Ipswich Town.
