Kate Henshaw blasts liquor company over illegal use of image

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has called out makers of Frixion Vodka for using her image for social media campaign without her permission.

“A long drink with Kate Henshaw and we still want more. #frixionvodka #wearthecrown @HenshawKate Kate Henshaw,” brewers of the Swedish brand wrote alongside a photo of the Aremu the Principal actress.

The 45-year-old actress wasn’t impressed with publicity stunt from the company and quickly pointed out that it was done without her permission.

She reacted with a tweet: “I detest this! This is what happens in a lawless country!!” she wrote.

“Do you have my permission to use MY image?” she asked.


The Calabar-born actress, who won the won the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain in 2008, is the brand ambassador of ONGA, a seasoning product.

She had a misunderstanding with comedian, Akpororo, in June over his use of her name and image to promote his show without her knowledge and consent.

After reprimanding the Airtel ambassador online and offline, the actress later declared that she had accepted his apology and would be at the show.

Frixion also used the images of singers Praiz and Simi, and writer, Toni Kan, for its campaign.
