Ebony Films boss, Seun Egbegbe, was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly stealing some phones at the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.
The former lover of controversy-hugging actress, Toyin Aimakhu, was said to have walked into Kaalcech Innovations and Consultancy, at 9, Medical Road around 10:30am under the pretence of buying some iPhones.
It was soon discovered that the compulsive lover, who allegedly kidnapped the actress during their whirlwind romance, had made away with nine phones.
No sooner had the shop attendant raised an alarm than the suspect was apprehended and beaten to a pulp.
Eyewitnesses said it took the intervention of policemen from Area F in Ikeja to prevent the mob from taking his life.
He was later taken to the police station for interrogation and detention.
Toyin went into an affair with late 2015 Egbegbe shortly after breaking up with her husband, Adeniyi Johnson, whom she accused of infidelity.
The move soon backfired after the movie producer reportedly abducted her from a movie location.
Upon her release, Toyin reported the matter to the police, saying Egbegbe’s threats have affected her business, with colleagues and producers afraid of inviting her for movie shoots because they were aware of his violent nature.
