The rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana is one which transcends beyond football to many aspects of life including the movies and music industries.

Recently, Nigerians launched a scathing attack aimed at singer, Mr Eazi, for claiming “Ghana’s influence on present day Naija Sound cannot be overemphasised”.

However, just when Nigerians thought they’ve seen the last of their countrymen handing undue advantage to their neighbours, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, had his own secret agenda.

Pinnick who has become synonymous with controversies has his undying support for the Black Stars at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.

Under Pinnick’s administration, the Super Eagles failed to qualify for two successive AFCON tourneys for the first time in history.

But instead of sobbing over the absence of his country, the Warri-born administrator rather opted to attend the competition and just like Mr Eazi, Pinnick picked Ghana.

Ghana will commence their campaign against Uganda on Tuesday before Mali and Egypt who denied Nigeria a spot in Gabon.
