Olori Grace Faduyile, the wife of Oba Babatunde Faduyile, the Abodi of Ikaleland in Ondo State on Sunday celebrated her rescue from a five-man kidnap gang on January 15 at Ikoya in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), Bethel Assembly in Okitipupa, the monarch’s wife said that it was God that arranged her freedom.
While recounting her ordeal, she said that armed men took her and one of her aides through the waterways for over two hours to an unknown destination before they were rescued by local hunters and security agents.
She added that one of the kidnappers was killed in a gun duel with the local hunters and police as one was arrested alive while the other three fled to the bush along Ikoya waterways.
Olori Faduyile thanked God for making her and her aide regain their freedom.
She also thanked the local hunters, the police and the entire Ikale nation for the swift rescue.
“I just don’t know what to say but to continue to praise God for bringing me and my aide back alive to his sanctuary today.
“I also thank local hunters, security agents and all Ikale indigenes for their quick response and solidarity for regaining my freedom,” she said.
Meanwhile, Pastor Frank Akinsuyi, a brother to Oba Faduyile has initiated Grace Faduyile Foundation (GFF) to reach out to the poor in Ikaleland.
The Canada based pastor pledge financial support to assist the foundation saying that poverty was ravaging the land and needed to be given due attention.
“I am so happy because my brother’s wife was rescued hale and hearty because by now, we will be looking for ransom to rescue her.
“So I initiated this foundation and will support it financially every month to support the poor masses with food items to rid off hunger in the land,” Akinsuyi said.
