It is obviously not the best of time for Super Eagles youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, at Manchester City.
The 20-year-old has found game time hard to come by in 2017 following the arrival of Brazil forward, Gabriel Jesus.
And things might even get worst for the Nigerian after he was dropped from the club’s Champions League squad.
Having now been registered at the club for two years, striker Iheanacho can be removed from the main quota but remain eligible as a player named on the ‘B’ list.
He loses his place to Jesus while Yaya Toure comes in for injured Ilkay Gundogan.
Pep Guardiola’s decision might look somewhat cruel considering the youngster has scored two goals in just one start for City in the competition.
He has been left out of the matchday squad by the Spaniard for the Citizens’ last two games.
Aside his double in the UCL, Iheanacho has also struck four goals and three assists in 15 appearances in the Premier League.
City face Monaco in the last 16 of the competition.
