Three Nigerian pop stars – Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade – were conspicuously missing at the 59th annual Grammy Awards which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (Monday morning in Nigeria).
Wizkid, who was nominated in the Album of the Year category for his contribution in Drake’s Views, was absent to see the award go to Adele. He was at Runtown’s London concert which held at the IndigO2.
Yemi Alade had on January 12 announced that she got an invitation to the award ceremony. She, however, didn’t make it to the music industry’s biggest event as she is currently in Sweden.
Tiwa Savage, who attended some pre-Grammy events in Los Angeles last week, was also missing on the big night.
