Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has proceeded on a one month vacation starting from December 20 his publicists, MIM, have revealed.
“Mr. Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) has shut down for the year till late January 2015. It was a rather long and successful year for the star and so he has to take a break and go on vacation with his family,” MIM said in a statement released on Saturday.
The statement did not disclose where Aki is vacationing but speculation is rife that it is probably in the US or the Bahamas, going by an interview he granted a national newspaper late last month where he was quoted as saying that when he needed a break, he always went to the United States or the Bahamas where people do not know him that much.
Aki’s last official outing this year before he proceeded on vacation was the wedding event of president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima, on Saturday, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He jetted out immediately after the wedding.
“There is no way he would have missed the wedding of Ibinabo who he had enjoyed a robust relationship with over the years, so he built it into his rather tight schedule,” the statement continued.
The actor thanked his fans, producers and the corporate world he had done business with this year and above all, “I thank God for His mercies and favour because without which, we won’t be alive to witness this day. Next year will be more successful for all of us in Jesus name. I pray Nigeria holds a successful election devoid of violence. I pray that our economy will improve next year too,” the statement read.
