President Muhammadu Buhari has said there is no need to worry about his health, just as he thanked millions of Nigerians who have been sending good wishes and praying for his well-being in mosques and churches throughout the country.
A statement on Tuesday by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said Buhari is immensely grateful for the prayers, show of love and concern.
“President Buhari wishes to reassure Nigerians that there is no cause for worry.
“During his normal annual check-up, tests showed he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating the President staying longer than originally planned,” the statement reads.
The President proceeded on a medical leave to the United Kingdom on January 19 after writing to the Senate that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will act in his absence.
