Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli, has been crowned London Young Player of the Year Award at the expense of Nigerian youngster, Alex Iwobi.
Dele, 20, who has Nigerian roots, clinched the prestigious accolade for the second successive year – an evidence of his meteoric rise in the last two years.
This season alone, the former MK Dons star has notched 12 goals in 25 games to help Spurs to second spot on the Premier League log.
Iwobi’s Arsenal teammate, Hector Bellerin, Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and Everton youngster, Ademola Lookman, were also nominated for the award.
Alli was named PFA Young Player of the Year for his stellar performance last season, and was included in the PFA Team of the Year.
Another Tottenham player who bagged an award was goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
His competition was fierce, with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and West Ham’s Darren Randolph being the other nominees for this award category.
Chelsea, however, were the biggest winners with N’Golo Kante picking the Player of the Year while Antonio Conte went home with the Coach of the Year.
