Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has declared that his wife, Matilde, does not like the sport that has bought him fame and fortune.
In an exclusive interview with Clare Balding for the BT Sport Christmas Day Special, the Portuguese said, “My wife. She knows nothing about football, she doesn’t like football, but she’s very intelligent and she helped me a lot on many occasions during my career, in the sense of modelling my personality. She’s also very competitive and I think she’s the one.”
But all the trophies and accolades received from the round leather game do not match his affection for his family.
According to the 51-year-old who has also coached Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid: “My family makes me happy, more than winning, my family is everything to me, football is clearly, clearly second.”
“If I want to be in control of the remote, I have to be on my own, it’s the only way I have control of the remote, because I control nothing, nothing at all.”
