Golden Effects Pictures in collaboration with Africa Magic Films on Wednesday released the official trailer of Kunle Afolayan’s new film titled Omugwo.
It tells the story of a young couple – Omotunde, a civil engineer, and Raymond, a radio personality – who just had a child.
Coloured by their different cultural backgrounds, their mothers forcefully move in with the couple to perform the Igbo child care rite.
But instead of relieving their children of the burden of childcare, the mothers’ rivalry complicates life for the young couple to comical effects.
Omugwo stars Ayo Adesanya, Patience Ozokwor, Omowunmi Dada, Ken Erics and Christian Paul.
It was produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan as part of a three-film project for Africa Magic
Shot in Lagos, it will be released in cinemas nationwide on April 7.
