Cameroonian football administrator, Issa Hayatou, has lost his quest to become President of Confederation of the African Football (CAF) for the eighth successive time.
The 70-year-old ex-acting FIFA president lost to less-fancied Madagascar FA boss, Ahmad Ahmad, by 34 to 20 votes in Thursday’s election in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Hayatou became the fifth head of Africa’s soccer body in 1988 and has clung on to power since then.
He rose from representing Cameroon as an athlete to become the country’s director of Youth and Sports, then the FA boss before his successful adventure on the continent.
