Described as a romantic thriller, Champagne tells the story of a young couple, played by Alex Ekubo and Rosemary Zimu, who are in an open marriage and decide to scam unsuspecting people for money until they meet the enigmatic Mr Douglas (Majid Michel) who takes them on an unexpected ride. The deceit and intrigue continue until it becomes glaring that the couple have bargained for more than they can handle.
“It was a very challenging project for me and I really enjoyed making the movie despite the challenges. I hope you enjoy watching it. I want to thank the cast and crew, especially my sister who was really there for me. I want to specially thank the cast. They tried for me. It wasn’t easy shooting outside our comfort zone but they pulled it through. I would also like to dedicate this movie to my husband,” Emem stated.
Champagne also stars Tana Adelana, Mbong Amata, Padita Agu and Susan Peters.
