Olori Wuraola, wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Wednesday took a thinly-veiled dig at the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, who publicly disrespected her husband the day before.
The Edo-born queen showered praise on her significant other in an Instagram post with an image of men paying obeisance to him hours after Akiolu snubbed him at a public event.
“My husband, my soulmate, my mentor, my king, the people’s King,” the beauty wrote about the highest ranking monarch in Yorubaland.
In obvious response to what transpired between her husband and the Lagos monarch, she added: “When you recognize what and who you are, your vision becomes bigger than the daily struggles of the mundane.”
This comes hours after a viral video showing Akiolu snubbing Adeyeye went viral on social media.
The video was recorded during the official opening of the 22nd World Conference of Banking Institutes hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos on Tuesday.
In the short clip, guests at the event were seen paying respect to Oba Adeyeye as he entered the venue.
Already seated were the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, and Akiolu. Upon entering, the Ooni walked up to greet the two monarchs, but while Achebe greeted him warmly, Akiolu, a retired police officer, rejected Adeyeye’s handshake and dismissed him with a wave of the hand.
The Ooni and Olori got married in March 2016 in a union said to have been ordained by the oracle.
