Former First Lady Patience Jonathan caused a stir at the Ya’Adua Centre, Abuja on Monday as she arrived for the launch of a book on corruption.
Titled Antidotes for Corruption, the book is authored by Senator Dino Melaye.
Senate President Bukola Saraki, who wrote the foreword of the 600-page book, led a delegation from the National Assembly.
Mrs. Jonathan is currently in court with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the seizure of her $15million.
Her arrival 30 minutes into the book launch was greeted with loud ovation, leading to a long pause in the programme.
Also present were Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bello Mohammed; Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr. Anyim Pius Anyim, and former acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and now All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Kawu Baraje.
Mrs Jonathan was at the event as special guest.
