Kenneth Omeruo and Emmanuel Emenike may have played together for the Super Eagles, but anytime they faced each other, it was war.
That’s according to Omeruo, who says his compatriot Emenike is his hardest opponent yet.
Both players have faced each other on a couple of occasions in the Turkish Super Liga.
While Emenike featured for Fenerbahce, Omeruo, on loan from Chelsea played for Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.
“Emmanuel Emenike was physically the hardest,” the 23-year-old told Complete Sports while responding to question about his toughest attacker.
“I played against him last season and we both wanted to prove a point.
“It was fun. He still has it within him.”
Meanwhile, Omeruo has continued to keep himself fit ahead of the coming season.
The versatile defender faces another uncertain summer with Chelsea and could be headed out of the club permanently.
But for the meantime, the 23-year-old is working on his fitness level with preseason edging closing.
He posted a picture on Instagram after working out on Tuesday.
