A fanatical supporter of the leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has declared that the secessionist is bigger than Jesus Christ.
In a message posted on Facebook, Chukwudi Leo wrote: “To whom it may concern. Our Supreme Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is bigger than Jesus. You must accept Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the messiah and the saviour of our land for you to inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Take it or Leave it. Biafra must be restored on Earth!”
Kanu, who is charged with treasonable felony along with three others, was granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on April 25 on health grounds.
Justice Nyako, however, barred him from granting press interviews, holding rallies or being in a gathering of more than 10 persons while on bail.
The Abia-born separationist has, however, consistently flouted his bail conditions.
Apart from granting press interviews and appearing among crowds of followers, his group called for a sit-at-home on in the south-east on May 30 and declared that the forthcoming Anambra governorship election will not hold unless the Federal Government conducts a referendum.
Pictures have also emerged of him receiving obeisance from awe-struck disciples.
While some supporters have elevated Kanu to the level of a deity, the man himself was recently reported to have visited an ancestral shrine in Umueri, Anambra State to pray and seek the face of Biafra forefathers in support of his struggle.
Meanwhile, the court has fixed July 11 and 12 for commencement of trial.
