Media personality, Frank Edoho, has denied reports that he was dropped from television game show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire (WWTBAM), saying instead that he refused an offer made to him.
Mr Edoho made the statement on Saturday in reaction to Twitter enquiries over the cause of his departure from the show he presented from August 2004 to June 2017.
WWTBAM went off the air in June after MTN pulled out of its sponsorship.
Producers of the show recently announced that it was returning in September after securing a new deal with Airoplaycare.
In an interview published on Saturday, Punch quoted an unnamed producer as saying “it is very likely that we are not going to use Frank Edoho as our anchor. We are not dropping him because we had any issue with him. I think he feels it is time to go and find other endeavours.”
The headline of the interview claimed the former FRCN worker was dropped, prompting fans to question the rationale for taking such action against a man considered a good host.
With Twitter users asking him if he was actually dropped, Edoho responded that he wasn’t.
He stated instead that he declined an offer from producers of the show and that he has evidence to prove it.
I declined the offer. If the source says otherwise, I’ll unleash evidence. I’m not going to be silent about lies about me anymore. https://t.co/gblYhMb9xs

Part of the changes with the new WWTBAM is that the star prize has been reduced from N10million to N5million.
The producers are also working on a plan to allow viewers play on other platforms apart from MTN.
