Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is expected to lead eminent personalities as Oluwo of Iwo Land, Osun State, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi, marks his second anniversary on the throne and 50th birthday on October 7.
Others expected include former Governor of Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Bola Tinubu, and Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State who will be the chief host.
Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Obateru Akinruntan will be chairman of the occasion while Hajia Abbah Folawiyo is mother of the day.
From the business community are President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; Chairman of Globacom, Mike Adenuga, and Chairman of Forte Oil, Femi Otedola.
The Oluwo has thus called on indigenes of Iwo in the diaspora to come home and contribute their quota to the development of the town.
“As a responsible father, I am thirsty of development. There are two Iwos: the old Iwo and the new Iwo.
“The new Iwo is the best because we have migrated from obscurity to light. The name is everywhere now and big investments are underway,” Oba Akanbi said in a statement released by the palace on Monday.
The monarch also charged the indigenes saying that the best they could do as indigenes is to invest in the many community projects in Iwo land.
