Nigerian musician, Timi Dakolo, on Wednesday expressed his felling over the increasing rate of divorce cases in Nigeria, urged every one of marriageable age not to get married if not ready.
The singer made this known via Instagram where he expressed his displeasure about how the society is making divorce and marriage vows look meaningless.
“The way people are making divorce look like something Cool like your marriage vow means nothing.
“It makes me wonder what they thought for better for worse meant, if you weren’t sure why did u go ahead?”
The 36-year-old urged the society not to give love a bad name, added that this generation is shallow and impatient and this should first be fixed.
“Don’t give love a bad name, you guys are the problem, not that marriage is bad, this shallow and impatience generation, fix yourself”.
He continued that marriage is meant for adults who understand the depth and importance of marriage.
“Marriage is for two complete adults, you should come into it prepared and complete, but what do I know?”
Timi got married to his wife, Busola, in 2010 and the union has produced three children.
The Bayelsa indigene found fame after winning Idols West Africa in 2007, and later released his debut album, Beautiful Noise, in 2011.
He was a judge in the just concluded music talent show The Voice Nigeria.
