Former youth international, Chidiebere Nwakali, is aiming to take advantage of his maiden invite to the Super Eagles.
Nwakali, alongside goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, was called up for national team duties for the first time for the clashes against Algeria and Argentina.
The Manchester City youngster, on loan at Norwegian side Sogndal, is delighted at the opportunity but craves for more of such.
“First and foremost, I must give thanks to God Almighty for this wonderful opportunity and also to the Super Eagles’ Coach Gernot Rohr,” the elder brother of Arsenal starlet, Kelechi, told AOIFootball on Wednesday.
“The aim of every youngster is to play for his National team and mine is no exception; the chance given to me by the coaches shows how much I must continue to strive hard to try to remain with the Super Eagles. I know it will be very difficult, but I believe I am up to the task.
The 20-year-old also praised the mood in the Super Eagles’ camp, while admitting that it was very easy for him to settle with the team despite being a first-timer.
“I must admit the atmosphere is electrifying and all the players are ready to deliver come Friday and we promise not to disappoint Nigerians.
“Settling down was very easy for me because I know some players at youth level, but generally all players have been friendly to me and we are all ready for the games against Algeria and Argentina,” Nwakali concluded.
The midfielder will be hoping he earns his first senior cap on Friday night in Constantine.
