Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have obtained CCTV footage showing the last moments of Bilyaminu Bello, the son of a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Haliru Bello, who was allegedly killed by his wife, Maryam Sanda.
Bello was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife over allegations of infidelity after she read a text message on his phone.
The suspect was said to have rushed him to the hospital where he pronounced dead.
Punch quotes a police source as saying, “We have been able to obtain the footage and it shows the suspect and three private security guards conveying him unto a vehicle from where he was rushed to a hospital.”
The security guards have also been arrested, with the FCT police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, confirming that more suspects had been apprehended.
“I know that some suspects have been arrested, but I don’t know their identity. I can’t confirm that the CCTV footage has been obtained, but it may be part of evidence gathering to assist in investigation,” Manzah said.
Sources close to the deceased claim that his wife had violently attacked him several times before he finally died.
Friends said she had attempted to stab him before while demanding a divorce.
Bello reportedly divorced his first wife to marry the woman accused of killing him.
