Claude Puel has lamented Leicester City’s bad day at the office as they crumbled to a 3-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace.
To cap the defeat, Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi was sent off for a second bookable offence for diving, a decision Puel thought was harsh.
Ndidi will now miss the midweek Carabao Cup clash with Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.
“I think it was a poor performance from us,” he said. “It was a bad day.
“We didn’t start the day with a good intensity or tempo, or good quality. It was difficult to find a solution.
“Our play was too slow on the pitch. We needed more intensity.
“We need a good recovery because we need to be fresh mentally and physically.”
When asked about the 21-year-old’s red card, the Frenchman opined: “Of course it is always harsh.
“I didn’t see a replay, but I think it was too little fall, maybe and it is harsh to lose a player like Ndidi because he is a crucial, valuable player.
“His work is fantastic and without Ndidi it is difficult with a player less, difficult to come back.”
