The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its nationwide strike.
The strike was suspended on Monday after a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, and the Department of State Security (DSS) in Abuja.
PENGASSAN went on strike over a faceoff with Neconde Energy Limited which it accused of anti-worker practices.
PENGASSAN, the umbrella body of senior workers in the oil and gas sector, alleged that the management of Neconde wrongly terminated the employment of some of its workers.
