Veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, has released pictures showing him at the Princess Grace Hospital in London where he is currently receiving treatment for prostate cancer and leukaemia.
The pictures were posted on Facebook by activist Joe Okei-Odumakin late on Tuesday night.
According to Okei-Odumakin, Sadiq thanked Nigerians especially those who led the campaign to raise fund for his treatment abroad.
He also thanked “doctors and ancillary staff of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and that of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife.”
Also included are Governors Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos and Simon Lalong of Plateau states, as well as Senators Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani.
Qed.ng learned that some supporters of the October 1 actor were upset after veteran journalist, Azuka Jebose, quoted him as saying he was misdiagnosed by doctors in Nigeria.
In a phone conversation transcribed by the ex-Punch journalist, Sadiq said tests conducted in London showed the cancer in his prostate had not spread and that his leukaemia was in remission contrary to the grim diagnosis by Nigerian doctors.
That revelation, this online newspaper was informed, led to a decision that only Soni Irabor and Okei-Odumakin should speak for him henceforth.
The actor, however, appreciates all that Jebose has done for him and referred to him as a brother in the message relayed by Okei-Odumakin.
