Nineteen-year-old Taofeek Alake was on Wednesday brought before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court over an alleged assault.
Taofeek, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge bordering on assault.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that the accused and others now at large, committed the offences on December 28, at about 9:20 p.m at Kajola area in Ado-Ekiti.
Ikebuilo said that the accused assaulted one Olawande Oluwaseun, by using a wood with nails to beat him, causing him harm on his body.
She said that the accused and others at large, also on the same date, assaulted one Adeleye Oyindamola, by beating her up.
Ikebuilo noted that the offences contravened Sections 355 and 351 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, while his Counsel, Mr Emmanuel Sumonu, urged the court to grant him bail on liberal terms, promising that he would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Mrs Omolola Akosile, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000.00, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until January 22, for hearing.
