Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has joined the crowd of those telling President Muhammadu Buhari not to run for re-election in 2019.
The 36-year-old who contested and lost the Anambra State governorship election in November 2017, made the call in a video uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday.
Please, sir, don’t bother, just leave it I don’t think Nigeria and Nigerians can endure four more years of what is going on right now. Believe me, it’s really terrible, the hardship is too much,” said the son of veteran actor, Pete Edochie.
He continued: “I watched your inaugural speech in 2015 and you sounded like you really had the best, the interest of the people at heart, you sounded like you really wanted to change things.
“I don’t know what went wrong maybe this wasn’t the plan, maybe something happened along the line but what we are seeing right now is not what the people are expecting.
“Nigerians expected so much from you but the hardship is too much, the issue is too much.”
He went on to reel out issues like insecurity, fuel scarcity and poverty.
According to him, 95 per cent of calls he gets every day is from people begging him for money.
Yul contested the Anambra governorship election on the platform of the Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC).
He has since defected to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on the invitation of Governor Willie Obiano.
His video asking Buhari not to contest the 2019 election comes on the day former President Olusegun Obasanjo released a long letter demanding the same of the current President.
