Afropop singer, Yemi Alade, on Monday declared that female musicians can sell out shows on their own.
The 29-year-old made the declaration in an Instagram post to celebrate her performance at the Koroga Festival in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday.
Yemi, who said she does not blow her horn or wear her accomplishment like a badge, said 20,000 people from different walks of life attended the concert.
“I headlined this concert alongside 2 other amazing supporting female artists, the MC was female, as well as the DJ and I still can’t believe it BUT WE MADE HISTORY,” she wrote.
The 2009 Peak Talent Show winner thanked all music lovers, influencers and show organisers for believing in female artistry.
The Nairobi concert comes a week after the Johnny singer clocked 29.
She released the video of her song, ‘Bum Bum’ on Tuesday, March 13 to coincide with her birthday.
