Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, is confident the team will cope without experienced skipper, Mikel Obi, when they take on Poland on Friday.
Mikel, 30, was ruled out of the international friendly in Wroclaw owing to work permit issues.
In his absence, Onazi is expected to lead Gernot Rohr’s troops to battle.
And the Trabzonspor star insists the absence of his superior won’t deter the team.
“Yes, we are doing well and everyone is happy to be back again to represent our dear country and the spirit here is very high,” Onazi was quoted by AOIFootball.
“The training has been going on well and come Friday night we will be ready to take to the pitch.
“We all know our captain will be missing from the game, but I’m confident the rest of us here can hold our own and give Poland a good game. Hopefully, we will win for him.”
After clashing with the Red and Whites, the Super Eagles face Serbia three days later.
